Hi, I’m sarah
I am a fully qualified, ICF affiliated executive coach. I am also a mother, a workout coach, a finance professional and a lover of trees and landscape.
I came to coaching after 17 years in professional services, where I spent my career in a fast-paced deals-based environment.
I had reached a stage where I had everything I always wanted from my career but something wasn’t quite right. It was at the point of considering my next step (did I WANT to be a partner?) that I was offered some coaching, which turned out to be transformative. It helped me find clarity on what I wanted and gave me space to consider my career in the context of my life and purpose.
It also allowed me to really think about what I enjoyed about my role and, whilst I DO genuinely enjoy a good spreadsheet, it was the people element of my role where I found most fulfilment. I loved developing and supporting the people in our team - seeing them get the best from themselves, seeing them develop and grow.
So I embarked on an executive coaching training course at Henley Business School which provided a broad and disciplined foundation in coaching. It also provided a space for deep self reflection and personal growth.
corporate experience
In my 17 years in professional services, I worked in a range of different specialisms including restructuring, insolvency, pensions advisory and M&A. My last 8 years were spent working on debt advisory mandates where I helped corporates to raise finance for growth, acquisition or value realisation. I also specialised in sustainable finance.
This experience leaves me well suited to coach individuals in the finance profession, however, it is my view that a skilled coach doesn’t NEED to know the details of your role - they can coach anyone regardless of grade and expertise by instilling trust and creating the right conditions for clarity and growth.
To date I have coached individuals in a range of careers, including engineering, tech, marketing, academia and online retail. The details didn’t matter. What matters is the individual that exists within that environment.
So whilst I CAN talk about and understand the ins and outs of the corporate landscape, the most powerful experience I have to date is not of slide decks and return calculations - it is the experience of what it is to be a living, breathing, feeling human being whilst navigating that corporate space.
