WHAT IS coaching?
What exactly IS coaching? I think you could ask a mix of 100 coaches, executives and HR professionals what coaching is and you’d get 100 different responses.
For me, coaching is best defined as:
“a collaborative process that helps individuals unlock their potential, increase self-awareness, and make meaningful progress toward their goals”
Rather than giving advice or solutions, I co-create with you the space, structure, trust, and challenge that enables you to think differently, gain clarity, and find your own answers.
DOES COACHNG WORK?
Research shows that in organisations, around 86%* of coaching engagements report a positive ROI (return on investment), with median reported returns of 5‐7×* the investment. For individuals, about 70%* of those who receive coaching report improved performance at work. In addition to this, recipients of coaching report significant “affective” benefits to coaching (improvements in how they feel), with over 70%* reporting positive benefits in areas like self esteem/self confidence, workplace relationships, communication and wellness.
Coaching isn’t just a feel-good exercise, it’s demonstrated to drive measurable results in clarity, leadership, performance and even financial outcomes.

who is coaching for?
In my view coaching is for everyone. But below are a couple of use cases which might resonate…
Feeling stuck: CAREER PIVOT OR REINVENTION
After almost two decades in professional services, I understand what it’s like to have a successful career on paper yet feel that something no longer fits.
Many of my clients reach a point in midlife or mid-career where they feel stuck, uncertain, or simply ready for change but aren’t yet sure what that change should be.
There has been increasing recognition of this invisible mid-career crisis in high performers. Coaching can help you with:
Redefining success beyond money and status
Strategic career reinvention
Moving from achievement to fulfilment
Sustainable high performance
TRANSITION TO SENIOR LEADERSHIP
Many high-performing professionals reach mid-career having built strong expertise and a reputation for delivering results. Yet the move into senior leadership often demands a different way of operating…less doing and more influencing, guiding, and shaping direction.
Coaching can support this transition by:
creating space to reflect on your leadership style
strengthening your strategic perspective
navigating the organisational dynamics that come with greater responsibility.
Through structured conversations and practical challenge, coaching helps you move from operational excellence to confident, thoughtful and authentic leadership.
FAQs
-
Drop me an email! We can arrange an initial complimentary “chemistry call” to discuss the issues you’re facing and talk about how we might work together
-
The chemistry call is a shorter initial session, to allow us to get to know each other a little bit and see if we’re a good fit. It also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about coaching or the process.
-
Generally coaching sessions are 50 minutes. However, they can be longer if that is what works for you and your thought processes - contact me to discuss
-
Absolutely. This is a central premise to coaching - nothing you say in a session will be shared or attributed to you in any way. This allows us to build trust and have open and productive discussions.
-
I have a range of packages available which can be tailored to your needs.
In almost all cases I would suggest a number of sessions over a period of months in order to get the most from your coaching insights.
